Checking the time when your phone rings might be the new coming trend, thanks to a piece of classic analog timepiece from Fossil, that actually has an LED display that flashes the Caller’s identification (Caller’s Id), when your phone rings or you receive an sms.
The Gadget
The Fossil Caller ID watch uses Bluetooth technology and connects you in style by connecting a vintage analog/digital watch design with your phone.
It notifies you when your phone rings with a discreet vibrating sensation and showing the caller’s name and/or number on the bright OLED display.
When an SMS/text message is received the watch will vibrate and the text alert icon will appear. You can mute the phone’s ringer or reject a call by simply pushing a button on the watch.
The Limitations
The watch is compatible with only bluetooth enabled Sony Ericsson handsets and Series 60 phones with Symbian OS 7 or later
The battery on the watch also needs to be recharged every 5-7 days for the caller ID function to work.
Opinion
To be frank, I think the manufactures (Fossil) should have targeted all bluetooth enabled phones market; that would have possibly gain a large market share. They have tried PDA watches that are able to sync with your Outlook Calendar and office e-mail before, but it wasn’t a success.
Well this fossil watch comes with a price tag of $249. Expensive? Yes I think so, but who knows, the niche market might adopt it.
