Unknown Device Identifier: Identify Hardware Type, Model & Driver for Unknown Devices in Windows Device Manager
2008-02-03 19:34:28 by Abdul Aziz in Tech[dot]Blog

Unknown Device Identifier is a freeware Windows application that allows you to identify unknown devices in the Device Manager, highlighted by yellow question mark and labeled as “Unknown Device”. It then displays a detailed summary of the device manufacturer’s name, OEM name, device type, device model and even the exact name of the unknown device. With the resulting information, you can contact your hardware manufacturer for support or search the Internet for the corresponding driver with a simple click. Known devices recognized by Microsoft Windows can also be analyzed independent of the operating system.
