Toys Can Be Green (Part 1)

Did you know that while you make your kids happy by giving them toys, you can also make sure that the toys you would be giving them would be green? Here are some of what you can do to give your kids green toys:

  1. It is best if you would go for toys that are free from PVC (or polyvinyl chloride). See, this material sends out toxins to the air starting from its manufacture and right even to its disposal. So just think about that.
  2. Go for wood. There are plenty of those around. Or you can start making your own wooden toys for your kids.
  3. Toys with no batteries would be best. After all, you know that tons of batteries get tossed in the dump and you also know the effects of batteries to the environment.
  4. Play outdoors and let your kid have some sun. Now that way, they would learn how to care for their playground and also get some exercise in the process as well.
  5. Hand-me-downs could still make your kid’s face light up. It doesn’t matter if it’s your old toy. As long as your kid can still play with it, then give that toy to them.
