What’s on your e-menu? Conceptic, an Israeli start-up company recently installed the e-menu options in pubs, their popular sushi bars and the family restaurants. We have just spotted a stunning new wine venue, which features an interactive wine bar that lets guests explore for themselves the wide variety of wines available. Potion, a technology design firm that specializes in interactive installations, has created an interactive wine bar for Alain Ducasse’s new restaurant ‘Adour’ located in the luxurious St. Regis Hotel in NY city. The 4-seat wine bar is made from gold and bronze and covered in luxurious goat skin. Built-in interactive technology helps wine connoisseurs choose a wine by browsing Adour’s complete wine list by wine type, country, and varietal. Computer menus are projected from the ceiling onto the bar and customers make their choices by pressing on the bar’s surface with their finger tips. When a person selects a wine, a rosette-shaped image emerges with information about the wine on each of its five petals.
Adour’s Wine Director manages the wine list using a custom-designed content management system and can update the interactive bar daily or for special occasions. On the top, Adour also offers the patrons temperature-controlled, private wine vaults in its 12-seat private dining room.
