A family friend posted a question to me in Facebook tonight asking me if the Asus Eee PC takes SDHC? She wanted to get an 8GB for her mini Asus wonder.

The answer is YES!

What is SDHC?
For those who don’t know anything SDHC, it stands for Secure Digital High Capacity which are the new generation of Secure Digital / SD memory cards. The start at 4GB and come in different speed classes:

  • Class 2: minimum sustained DTS of 2MB/sec
  • Class 4: minimum sustained DTS of 4MB/sec
  • Class 6: minimum sustained DTS of 6MB/sec

It’s important to understand what SDHC Class your device is so you can buy appropriately, i.e. it would be a waste of money buying a Class 6 SDHC for a gadget that only has a max DTS of 2MB.

Hope this helps. :)
