GE Cameras Include Blink Detector
2008-01-28 10:05:12 by David Becker in Gadget Lab

012708nd2 General Electric, which has yet to take over the consumer camera market, has nine new models for 2008 that include a few interesting novelties. In the ongoing race to elaborate on the by-now standard face-detection, the new GE shooters include both smile detection and blink detection to ensure the camera grabs a shot when subjects are wide-eyed and happy-looking.

The new E1050 also adds some pressure to the luxury end of the point-and-shoot market by cramming HD video, wide-angle lenses and a GPS receiver that tags images with location data into a $250 package.
