Where did it emerge from? Well the FCC spotted it and it's our duty to mention it. The EM330 Motorola handset will be known as the Motorola Ischia in the future. Motorola seems not to be giving up their fight. They aren't doing that great in the mobile business lately but they keep sticking to it. More and more models are rolled over.

The Ischia is an entry level clamshell phone. Looking at the specs we see a VGA camera, support for microSD memoru cards, FM radio. Not exactly the smartphone here but the Ischia will definitely run applications like calendar, alarm, calculator and various Java Games.

Last May, RIM announced a Windows client for BlackBerry smartphones. Release date was purported to be sometime around summer which we now know is this July.

The client that will make the Windows Live Messenger service available to BlackBerry smartphones is now available for download. The Live Messenger for the BlackBerry can log chats, show user status, use emoticons, display pictures, and even send and receive files, just like the usual Live Messenger for computers and Windows Mobile smartphones. The Windows Live Messenger client is available in different languages including, but not limited to, English, Chinese, Japanese, Korean, Spanish, Italian, Hebrew, and German. Unfortunately, that’s about the extent of what arrived this July—the Windows Live Hotmail for the BlackBerry which would use push technology isn’t out yet, although hopefully, it follows suit.

Here's a little download that has been a long time coming — BlackBerry Media Sync. It's true, RIMarkable announced yesterday that Media Sync has been officially released, so we can put those, "Yes it's here," "No it's not here," rumors to rest. And why does this make me so happy? Because now I can put all my tunes from my laptop (including iTunes) on my smartphone. It's easy to use, intuitive, and you can control how much of your music is synced to your BlackBerry smartphone. Just click here to download.

Samsung has unleashed its i8510 handset at an event in NYC, bringing S60 to the world of Samsung handsets. This quad-band GSM(850/900/1800/1900MHz), dual-band WCDMA (900/2100MHz) cell phone will up the ante against Nokia and Sony Ericsson’s line of photo-centric handsets by offering a whopping 8 megapixel camera that is capable of recording video in QVGA resolution at up to 120fps, as well as VGA quality up to 30fps. Other camera-centric features such as smile, face, and blink detection, image stabilization, and support for panoramic photos are also included. Do check out other drool-worthy specifications and features below :-

Symbian 9.3 S60 3rd Edition FP2 2.8? 16m color QVGA TFT display Built-in GPS receiver and accelerometer Wi-Fi connectivity16GB internal memorymicroSD memory card slotBluetooth 2.0 with A2DP connectivity

This superlative handset has not yet been given an official release date nor pricing, but I do see the T-Mobile logo printed on top of the display. The only drawback would be the lack of U.S. 3G support, but other than that, this is one of the most well-featured handsets to date.

With the more popular Palm Centro making more significant headway in Verizon's Palm OS-powered smartphone portfolio, the No. 2 US wireless carrier has announced that the recently launched Palm Treo 755p has met its end-of-life. The Palm Treo 755p was only launched on Verizon a few months back, and it seems that Verizon is already done with the long-delayed Palm Treo 755p.

The end-of-life announcement from Verizon comes on the heels of the Palm-issued Treo 755p update.

Whatever Verizon's reason for killing off the last remaining vestige of Palm's classic Treo-design, we're going to miss the bloated sucker. And, we're sure business-users needing a keyboard with keys larger than the Tic-Tac's on the Palm Centro's keyboard will be missing the Verizon Palm Treo 755p.

AT&T Is First U.S. Wireless Carrier to Give Customers GPS-Based Navigation Capabilities Abroad With Initial Availability in 20 Countries

AT&T customers can now stay on the beaten path not only in the U.S. but when abroad, as well. AT&T Inc. (NYSE:T) today announced the availability of AT&T Navigator Global Edition, the only GPS-based service available from a U.S. wireless carrier to provide international navigation capabilities.

Beginning today, AT&T Navigator Global Edition — powered by TeleNav — can be used in 20 countries on AT&T-powered smartphones featuring built-in GPS capabilities. AT&T Navigator Global Edition's coverage area includes most countries in western Europe, North America and the U.S. Caribbean as well as the six cities in China that will host Beijing Summer Olympics events. The new international navigation service is available in conjunction with the domestic AT&T Navigator solution on the AT&T Tilt™, BlackBerry® 8800, BlackBerry 8820, BlackBerry Curve™ 8310, BlackBerry Pearl™ 8110, BlackJack™ II and MOTO Q™ 9h global smartphones.

"The introduction of AT&T Navigator Global Edition is just another example of how AT&T is the nation's leading provider of international wireless services," said Jeff Bradley, senior vice president, Mobility Marketing and Operations for AT&T's wireless operation. "AT&T not only gives customers the ability to use their mobile phones in more countries than any other U.S. carrier, they now can use our robust GPS-based navigation offering whether at home or abroad to easily get from point A to point B or to find and get directed to a local business or service."

AT&T Navigator Global Edition provides customers with many of the same features as AT&T's popular domestic GPS-based navigation service, AT&T Navigator. Customers can get spoken or text-based turn-by-turn directions — in English, German, Italian or Spanish — and are rerouted automatically if they miss a turn.

AT&T Navigator Global Edition also features a local "business finder" service, which allows customers to find the locations of businesses by category or by specific name with the click of a button using AT&T Navigator's GPS-based navigation capabilities. AT&T Navigator's business finder database contains more than 19 million businesses and services located in the U.S. and abroad, including A™s, hotels, restaurants, gas stations and airports. This feature also allows users to quickly look up and call the phone number for a business, saving time and money.

IBM was among the companies that participated in a customer trial program for AT&T Navigator Global Edition before its launch.

Maria Azua, IBM's vice president of Technology and Innovation, said: "AT&T Navigator Global Edition saves me an enormous amount of time. When traveling in unfamiliar territory, AT&T Navigator has guided me very efficiently to the right location in the shortest possible time. The 'live updates' feature gets me rerouted via an alternative path to avoid traffic jams. Since it is integrated with my smartphone, I always have it with me; it's an important business companion for the road warrior."

AT&T Navigator Global Edition will be particularly useful to customers traveling to China in August for the Summer Olympics. AT&T customers will be able to use AT&T Navigator Global Edition in the six cities hosting Olympics events — Beijing, Shanghai, Qingdao, Shenyang, Tianjin and Qinhuangdao. AT&T also is providing AT&T Navigator Global Edition service to select athletes and their families and to the eight grand-prize winners in AT&T's "How Are You Connected" to Team USA sweepstakes.

AT&T is an official sponsor of the U.S. Olympic Team and provides significant financial support as well as products and services to the U.S. Olympic Committee. AT&T is also the official telecommunications services partner of the U.S. Olympic Team in Beijing, and the company is an official partner of several national governing bodies, including USA Track & Field, USA Gymnastics, USA Swimming and USA Diving.

AT&T is the leading provider of international wireless services. AT&T has the largest international wireless footprint of any U.S. carrier, providing customers with the ability to make or receive wireless calls in more than 200 countries and access e-mail, the Web and other data applications in more than 145 countries, with access to mobile broadband 3G networks in more than 60 countries.

Pricing and Availability
AT&T Navigator Global Edition, which includes domestic service, is available through AT&T retail stores nationwide and AT&T direct business sales channels for $19.98 per month. Data rates also apply. For more information on AT&T Navigator Global Edition, please go to www.att.com/locationbasedservices.

For the complete array of AT&T offerings, visit www.att.com.

Verizon has just announced the Motorola Adventure V750. Not the most complicated smartphone, the V750 is still a very awaited handset. It has support for EVDO Rev. A and the Push to Talk service.
Verizon seems to grow their mid-range phone line with support for EVDO Rev. A as they have launched the LG Dare earlier.

The V750 is a clamshell. Besides what we have mentioned so far, it offers a 2 inch QVGA internal display, GPS support with VZ Navigator, support for Field Force Manager and a 2.0 megapixels camera with video recorder. There's also a microSDHC expansion slot, Bluetooth with stereo support, external media player control buttons, speakerphone and a shock and vibration resistant case.

Verizon will sell this Motorola from their online store for $149.99. Too much? Well there's an instant $50 online discount. The Motorola Adventure V750 will be available in store starting next week from July 28th.
