I'd like to imagine that one day all cellphones have such components built in, but until then this is the best way to put a picture on your wall with hardware the size of a remote control.

It is not a mind-blowing upgrade, but there are definitely some useful tweaks in there. If you want to play around with it before it is expected to ship this April, Microsoft will make the Windows Vista and Windows Server 2008 Service Pack 2 Beta available to everyone through a Customer Preview Program (CPP) starting on December 4th via TechNet. The delayed Apple in-Ear Phone we were supposed to see last October are now finally up and available in Apple online stores. The in-ear headphones were announced along with the fourth generation iPod Nano models back in September.

The in-ear headphones come with a remote control and have a built-in microphone. Unfortunately, for some reason, they’re only compatible with the iPod Classic 120GB, iPod Nano 4th Gen, and iPod Touch 2nd gen. They’re not even compatible with the iPhone. Still, if you’re interested, it’s now available in Australia’s Apple store for AU$109 per and comes with three silicon ear-tip sizes.

We can't show it to you yet, but the quality is very good, with a face full of transparent acrylic lens what give the LEDs inside a sweet diffuse effect. According to them, it's their best ever.

We'll have lab coats and goggles, but also whipped cream and berries. And I think we'll sacrifice a gadget or two come this Saturday to the gods of user interface design or battery life because clearly, asking companies to improve such things have by and large gone unanswered. We may do even more than a few if you've got some particularly interesting and hated ones you want to puree, but no promises!

Not one to let Telus and Bell hog all the fun with new devices for the holidays, rumour has it the new BlackBerry Curve is coming to Rogers soon for $179.99 on a three-year plan, $499.99 on two, and $549.99 for no contract. There were rumours a few days ago confirming the BlackBerry 8900 would be coming alongside a pink BlackBerry Bold, but we hadn’t thought it was going to be this soon. After talking to some of my Rogers folks, they’re saying it could be available as early as December 4th. The BlackBerry 8900 is more in line with the traditional BlackBerry setup, and will likely be more warmly recieved than the experimental BlackBerry Storm, but if the software can get updated before a Canadian launch, maybe the experience will be considerably better than what some Verizon customers are dealing with. The initial launch of the new Curve with Wi-Fi, GPS and a 480 x 360 screen was in Germany through T-Mobile, but we’ve been hearing that a Q1 ‘09 release in the U.S. was likely, so stay tuned.
