As we've seen, Sony sure doesn't hold back on its exclusive-to-China line of PMX PMPs, and it's just tossed yet another new model into the mix, with the PMX-U55 helping to fill out the low-end of the spectrum (and pick up where the PMX-U50 left off). This one apparently comes in only a 2GB version, and packs a decent enough 2.4-inch 320 x 240 display, a built-in FM tuner, and support for all the usual audio and video formats, not to mention a 7.5mm slim form factor. Of course, like seemingly every other entry in the line, there's no word of a release outside of China, but those there can apparently pick one up right now for 498 Chinese yuan, or just over $70.

[Via PMP Today]

I’ve got to hand it to the company who made the G4 Slim mouse. It can’t have been easy to make the world’s thinnest laptop mouse, or at least the world’s slimmest so far.

The G4 is a 5mm piece of plastic and metal that can fold up into a very flat slot. In fact, it is so flat that it can fit inside the PCMCIA slot of the laptop, which is one that I don’t use while the laptop is being transported.

This makes the G4 one of the most compact computer mice, and it comes with a retractable USB cable as well. This has a touch scroll pad in the middle of two left and right mouse buttons.

The G4 slim mouse is a plug and play feature that is compatible with both PC and Mac laptops. Not only that, this G4 Mouse is an optical mouse that is state of the art.

Oddly enough, this is not the first Slim Mouse that we have reported on. The first we did was about the size of a finger, and had a scroll wheel on the side.

The G4 Slim mouse comes with a leather pouch and mouse pad, and is available for about $69.99 on the Slim mouse site.

Sony is preparing three new Walkman series for tomorrow’s IFA 2008 event — the S, E, and B series. Let’s talk about the S series first. At just 7.5mm thick, the player is loaded with a bunch of high-end, format-friendly features, including the ability to play music from different sources, a handy preinstalled Content Transfer software, and support for popular multimedia codecs, such as WMV (DRM), WAV, and obviously, MP3.

To make things even better, Sony loads the S-series Walkman with Sony’s SensMe Channels function which automatically creates channels that can align with a user’s preferences. Based on Sony’s SensMe Channels function, the S-series players analyze a user’s music collection and suggest channels based on each song’s speed, mood and rhythm. They create a choice of 11 themed channels from upbeat pop to emotional ballads. Pretty cool, isn’t it? FYI, S-series is the first MP3 player with this kind of unique feature.

Other features include an in-flight noise cancellation for convenient music playback during flight, a high-contrast 2-inch QVGA display, up to 40 hours of music playback, up to 10 hours of video playback, and personalizeable interface with up to 10 pre-installed wallpaper images (users can also use their own photo as a wallpaper if they want).

Sony Walkman S series MP3 player is currently available in two different capacity variants: the NWZ-S736F (4GB) and NWZ-S738F (8GB). Both available in black color with price respectively set at $150 and $180.

Our recent post about the upcoming iPod nano attracted some of the craziest comments we’ve ever seen, many of which must have oozed from the steaming cracks of some hellish Internet from an alternate universe.

We feel your pain, fellow miscreants. So in the interest of being fair and balanced ®, here we bring you one of Sony’s new Walkman players, the S-series that gives you iTunes-free music and video, as well as in-flight noise-canceling earbuds. Sony calls it format-friendly, playing lots of file formats including the DRM-infested Windows Media Video (WMV).

It’s small, too. At 7.5mm thick, it’s about the same thickness as the iPod nano, but its 2-inch screen is too tiny. Even so, it can still play back postage-stamp-sized video at 30 frames per second. Its price is relatively minuscule as well, coming in at an iPod-identical $150 for the 4GB model and a $20-cheaper-than-iPod $180 for its 8GB bro. We like.

The S in the new Sony Walkman S Series apparently stands for sensing. When Fujio Nishida talked about it, I thought the thing actually sensed your mood by some kind of magical sensors (which actually would have been amazingly cool) to play songs to match them. Unfortunately, you have to select the mood you are in from a list of eleven, which include themes like "Energetic", "Relax", "Upbeat" or "Hot as a Horny Bunny".

The good: light, very thin (7.5mm thick), good finish in brushed aluminum for the faces and plastic for the rim. High quality earphones included, which actually sound very good unlike those other headphones included in you-know-who's MP3 players. Good battery life, in theory: 40 hours of audio playback, 10 of video in its 2-inch screen. The mood sensing technology analyzes the music and makes a playlist on the fly. In theory, it sounds good.

The bad: If it does it using only the beat per minute rate, we are in for a problem, because I can think of quite a bit of pretty sad and depressing songs with high bpm, and happy ones with low bpm rates. I don't like the menu system, which makes the whole thing look and act as a Sony Ericsson phone.

Bottom line: It feels like a good competitor for the iPod nano. The quality is good, the form factor is better than Apple's offer, and it the mood sensing feature may make this a winner for those people obsessed with music and moods (that would be me). If it works. By the way, for those of you looking for the same package, but only a bit smaller and without the mood sensing and customization options of the S Series, there's the E series. The top-end, format-friendly Sony Walkman S-series broadens options for enjoying tunes from multiple sources, including many download stores and personal music collections. Support for popular audio and video codecs is enhanced because the S-series Walkman devices play Windows Media Video (WMV) files with DRM, allowing you to enjoy rights-protected movies and video clips from other media collections. Additionally, the S-series Walkman players are the first MP3 players with Sony’s SensMe Channels function, which automatically creates channels that can align with a user’s preferences. The top-end S-series Walkman players feature integrated active noise cancellation with supplied 13.5mm EX noise canceling headphones and an accessory cable that extends the noise canceling functionality of the device.

The Sony S-series of Walkman noise canceling video MP3 players come in two different storage capacities in black. The NWZ-S736F has approximately 4GB of internal storage and will cost about $150. The NWZ-S738F has approximately 8GB of internal storage and will cost about $180.

With endless gossip of iPhone seen all over the net, lets see what are the other options which people can look for if they don’t like iPhone (yes many people don’t) but want something comparable or even better in some aspects. So we are looking for a smart phone and when we talk of smart phones, we cannot forget Blackberry. This brand has become a status image and someone having Blackberry will always get more attention t doesn’t matter other person standing near him maybe having a bigger flashy smart phone of some other brand. Blackberry Bold is one such model which can be compared with iPhone and it comes out pretty decent in features which is actually someone who need smart phone going to use. With Blackberry brand behind this phone, business users will be more attracted to this phone.

Lets see what main features this phone have, the Blackberry 9000 Bold is equipped with bright display which is really a treat and looks good and readable in daylight too. This phone also have Wi-Fi to connect to internet and there has been no problem with Blackberry sets with browsing, sending mails, instant messaging etc, these phones are built for people who want to stay connected 24×7 on mobile. Maps and GPS feature is also a plus point for people always on move and venturing new places. With all these heavy duty and system demanding features, this phone still works smooth and faster, thanks to powerful 624MHz Intel PXA270 processor which is good enough for any smart phone.

Blackberry Bold is not only designed for business purpose but it’s also a good choice for people looking for a powerful multimedia phone. This phone can play a wide variety of audio and video formats, including MP3, WMA, AAC, DivX4, and WMV3 files which mean less need of converting files from one format to another. Since DivX format is supported, you can also have long videos; even movies without using much space on your memory card, very few phones support DivX. It’s still to be tested if it could play XviD files too. The phone is equipped with a 3.5mm headphone jack so any normal headphone can be used, this is very much preferred by hard core music lovers as they always want to use some better quality headphones and not the stock one! This may sound a positive Blackberry Bold review but really this set doesn’t have any negative points, it’s a great buy if you are not an Apple fan.
