Gsmarena have posted their review of the HTC Touch HD. Here are the key features, main disadvantages and final impression.

<img style="cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 320px; height: 240px;" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_h5hOmDEy1n4/STDr7WQ8NkI/AAAAAAABAic/K7gLFa0tYws/s320/hd.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5273974568472294978" />

Key features:
Massive 3.8" 65K-color WVGA display
Windows Mobile 6.1 Professional OS
TouchFLO 3D Home screen and gesture controls
Wi-Fi and built-in GPS receiver
Qualcomm MSM7201A 528 Mhz CPU and 288 MB DDR SDRAM
Dedicated graphics chip (64MB RAM reserved for graphics)
Quad-band GSM and dual-band HSDPA support
5 MP auto focus camera with nice image quality
microSD card slot
Accelerometer sensor for auto screen rotation and turn-to-mute calls
Proximity sensor to automatically turn the screen off during calls
Fingerprint resistant rear panel
Touch sensitive keys with vibration feedback
Stereo FM radio with RDS
Standard 3.5mm audio jack
miniUSB slot and Bluetooth v2.0 with A2DP
Active magnetic stylus
MS Office Mobile document editor
Excellent Opera 9.5 web browser
Rich retail package, including 8GB microSD card

Main disadvantages:
A wee bit overweight
Sizeable body (still within acceptable limits though)
Average sunlight legibility
Video recording maxes out at CIF@30fps
There's no dedicated camera key or flash
No D-pad (offers more precise navigation)
Power key is really hard to press
No TV out port

The HTC Touch HD is guaranteed to change the way people think of Windows Mobile. It is a bold and confident step, taking full advantage of all the hardware and software strengths and a worthy effort of addressing the weaknesses.

There are still quite a number of performance issues but the problems of Windows OS are far too deep to disappear overnight. Still, if modding and tweaking is your game, you can fix quite a lot of the issues that come out of the box.

But while this certainly isn't a flawless phone, the results are impressive indeed. The multimedia power of the HD is immense, and only a touch away on that huge screen. The high-resolution camera and the tons of software available, make the HD a truly attractive package. And with looks like those - what more can you possibly want in a phone.

The great response and sweet thumb-optimized handling are remarkable (in WinMo terms) but that's hardly an achievement of the Touch HD alone. The company's headliner is the cutting edge of a consistent effort that started back with the HTC Touch and went sky-high with the Diamond.

The crown of that effort, HTC Touch HD, is now set on a path pretty much signposted by iPhone. Its driving inspiration has brought to the scene a capable candidate for a hefty bite at the apple.

And wires deter me from a lot of things like transferring photos from phones and digicams to computers unless I got no choice. The Parrot PHOTO VIEWER makes it a lot easier and convenient for everyone to transfer pictures from devices to the frame.

Unlike some where you’d need to connect your gadgets together for some image transfer whether via wires or via memory card, the Parrot PHOTO VIEWER allows you to just send your images to its storage via Bluetooth. No sweat, right? The device has a 4×6 inches 720 x 480 pixels resolution screen and has Bluetooth v2.0 + EDR connectivity. It uses a Samsung 2412 Microprocessor and has a flash-based memory of 64MB.

Just like on the iPhone, you can use 2 fingers to perform different actions; for example, stretching out or zooming in on a photo or other object on the screen.

The tx2z is no slouch either despite its seemingly small stature (starting under 5lbs with a footprint of 12×9″). You can get up to a 2.4GHz AMD dual-core Turion, 8GB memory, a 64MB ATI 3200 graphics card and up to a 400GB SATA hard drive. Not too shabby.

Your day has arrived. The touchscreen-slate alternative to the iPhone 3G and the BlackBerry Storm has finally touched down on Verizon Wireless’s network. The Samsung Omnia i910 is now live on Verizon!

As you’re probably already aware, the Samsung i910 Omnia is the Verizon-branded i900 Windows Mobile 6.1 Professional-powered touchscreen handset wrapped in Samsung’s widget-friendly TouchWIZ UI. Like the touchscreen offerings from Apple and RIM, the Samsung Omnia features a slate form-factor that boasts a full-face 3.2-inch haptic feedback (entire device vibrates with every touch-input) touchscreen with minimal use of buttons. And, with a 5 megapixel camera (LED flash, face detection, and panorama mode), WiFi, GPS (VZ Navigator), Bluetooth A2DP, 3G (EVDO Rev. A), optical mouse, accelerometer, and a full-HTML web browser, the Samsung Omnia is about as close to an iPhone 3G fighter as Samsung has ever released.

In line with our predictions, the Samsung Omnia will be available through online sales and business channels starting November 26. Verizon Wireless will offer the Samsung Omnia for $249.99 (after $70 mail-in rebate) with new two-year contract. Verizon Wireless stores should have stock and be ready to sell you a Samsung Omnia in-person on December 8.

Most laptops today come with over 100GB of hard drive space, which is plenty for most people. Honestly, even with my entire music collection littering my MacBook Pro, I still have more room than I think I’ll really ever use. However, if you deal with large file sizes and don’t feel like lugging around a portable hard drive, then you may want to check out the latest flash drives from Kingston.

My very first flash drive had a whopping 64MB of storage, which seemed pretty cool back when they were first coming out. When compared to this new 64GB DataTraveler drive, it seems downright puny. The drive comes in both 32GB and 64GB varieties and will set you back $69 and $129 respectively.

The PC upgrade cycle is a brutal, senselessly fast one. Problem is, every upgrade doesn't mean disposal for your old PC — it means suffering a much more depressing fate in the back of a dark, dusty closet. It doesn't have to be that way. Give us your tired, your poor, your huddled masses of dusty towers yearning to breathe free — we've got some ideas.

It turns out that crappy old PCs are kind of a hot commodity nowadays; numerous software projects have succeeded in dressing up retired computers for purposes that often didn't even exist when they were first wheeled out of Circuit City. Here are a few suggestion for your dumpy old rigs:

Make a browsing machine for your grandmother and/or kitchenThe most straightforward, obvious use for an old PC is to wipe it clean and install a lightweight, browsing-oriented OS. With a modest PC, you can run the web-app-inclined gOS, which is essentially a modern, stripped down Linux distribution with a modern web browser and lots of links to cutting edge online services.

For older hardware, there's always Damn Small Linux. This superlight distribution will boot straight from a CD in about a minute on just about any box you can find — and it's fast. It'll make your Pentium feel like a Centrino 2. Until you try to play YouTube.

What it can salvage
gOS has room to breathe on just about anything from about 700mhz and 256mb of RAM. It's based on Ubuntu, so it's not the lightest distro, but it get good mileage out of your hard. DSL will run on anything, seriously.

How you do it
Download, burn to a CD and pop in in your computer. Both will ask you if you'd like to install or just run from a CD. Give them a try first, but you'll get your best results running from a hard drive.

gOS download page
Lifehacker's gOS Post
DSL download page

Make a professional grade home router
For people who want to rule their home networks with an iron fist, Monowall a FreeBSD-based operating system that flips any PC with two network cards into a superrouter. If that sounds boring to you, I completely understand — but if full bandwidth monitoring and control, easy setup VPNs and a complementary web server with a remote interface perk your ears up, then you should give Monowall a shot. And step outside for a few minutes a day.

What it can salvage
Got a 486? It'll work, with 64MB of RAM. If your hardware is less than five years old, though, you should probably aim a little bit higher than making a Linksys out of it.

How you do it
Again, this is a wipe>install situation. m0n0wall is based on FreeBSD, which is based on Unix. None of that matters much, though — the m0n0wall team has designed a pretty straightforward installation routine.

m0n0wall download
m0n0wall HowTo page

Create a media center PC

There's no reason to spend money on a Windows Media Center PC if you've got an Athlon XP or Pentium 4 machine with an s-video port at hand, because you can do better with the free XBMC Live. Without modern hardware you won't have much luck playing back HD video, but virtually everything else — music, standard def video, streaming content — will play beautifully. The interface is very intuitive and gives a solid set-top box feel.

What it can salvage
Recently obsolete PCs. Don't expect to get a good experience on a 1GHz Athlon or Duron system, but anything newer can handle the load.

How you do it
Like most of the other hacks here, this one is a start-from-scratch project. If you want to run it within Windows or Linux there is also an option for that. The full, OS-replacement XBMC Live is ideal, however.

XBMC Live download
XBMC HowTo
Note: Boxee is a much more polished and feature-rich fork of XBMC that runs on Linux and OS X currently, but it's in a semi-public alpha. Use this link for Gizmodo readers to skip the line a bit and get invited into the alpha.

Run a server
An obvious use for old PCs for years, running a web server has now gotten easy enough for anyone. Apache is the de facto free web server, but it's a pain to set up. Enter XAMPP, a super-simplified click-and-run version of Apache. Forward a few ports on your router and get yourself a static DNS and you've got your very own website, with as much space as you've got on your hard drive and as much transfer as your ISP will let you get away with. If you have no need for a website, you can host your music, video and files for easy access from anywhere.

What it can salvage
Anything that can run Windows or Linux, gOS and Damn Small Linux included. You can reach waaaayy back into your closet with this one.

How you do it
It's a matter of running the installation routine on your chosen operating system — there's no drive wiping or OS installing involved.

XAMPP Download
Port Forwarding Guides
Free Static DNS

Dealzmodo Hacks are intended to help you sustain your crippling gadget addiction through tighter times.
Lexibook of France has released its Lexibook Laptop that has been described as “My first computer” - guess this means it is a kid-friendly laptop. This is confirmed by its sun orange color and slightly rugged case (you don't know just how rough kids can get), and it will feature the following :-

Samsung 400MHz processor

64MB RAM

2GB SSD

8" display at 800 x 400 resolution

Two USB 2.0 ports

Ethernet connectivity

SD memory card reader

Windows CE 5.0 operating system

The battery life will last much longer compared to your kid's attention span at 3 hours, but the 299 Euros asking price sounds rather steep compared to a much better equipped netbook at that price range.

Typically when the word "educational" is slapped in front of a gadget, it's relatively inexpensive. Apparently French company Leximark missed that memo. Its 8-inch educational netbook costs 299 Euros ($381) -- and there are plenty of far more capable netbooks that cost less.

It's unclear what makes the Leximark "educational," other than the fact it's bright orange. The specifications aren't all that impressive:

Operating System: Windows CE 5.0

Proccesor: 400MHz Samsung CPU

Memory: 64MB of RAM

Storage: 2GB solid state drive,

Connections: Ethernet, two USB ports

Multimedia: SD card reader

Mic input and headphone output

Battery: 1500mAh battery (up to 3 hours of use)

What makes this netbook more educational than, say, a $350, Atom-powered MSI Wind? Beats me. But hey -- it's bright orange! Kids love orange, yeah? Orange you itching to buy one? (OK, I know -- that was bad.)

The remote control VS Tank has incredible maneuverability so you will always be in control, even if you live on a mountain. There are nine speeds at your disposal which is eight more than I’ve ever had before. The turret can be rotated 330°, necessary to battle it out with other VS Tanks using Airsoft BB pellets which are accurate up to a long-distance 25 metres. If details are important to you, this tank has been precisely constructed to be on scale at exactly 1/24 of the size of it’s real life big brother.

This lightsaber set comes with lots of different parts which means there’s over a 1000 different lightsaber combinations to come up with. Including making the lighsabers of the various different Jedi and Sith themselves!

GPS Underwear

This underwear set certainly boosts the confidence of the person wearing it, in addition to the fact that it has GPS support so that your position (as long as you’re wearing it) can be established at all times just in case you get abducted or worse. I think most (suspicious) husbands will probably get this for their wives with less than altruistic reasons behind the gift.

Air-pump bra pad safely and effectively improve your bust line. The nylon and polyurethane pad inflates with every squeeze of the air-pump area for custom adjustable sizing, while pushing a metal disc releases the air. Upgrade your cup and get a firmer look in seconds, without drugs or surgical procedures.
