Supertalent will be updating its line of Godfather USB flash drives sometime next year to accompany the two current models - a mini Pico version and a rubber-clad variant. Both models are currently available in 1GB to 8GB capacities, although they will cost more than the vanilla production. Since flash prices are extremely uncertain, chances are by the time they're released next year, whatever quotes you get today won't be applicable, but do add a slight premium over regular USB flash drives in that range then. Only meant for hardcore fans of The Godfather, but otherwise most people would give this a pass including us.

Want an optical zoom on your camera phone? Not a problem - you can do that with an external telescope, which you can buy for about 30 bucks from Brando. Sure, some of these could cause vignetting on the image, but you’ll still be able to zoom and that’s the idea here.

There are quite a few phones that are supported (there’s a telescope specially tailored for each of the handsets mentioned bellow):

Apple iPhone and iPhone 3G

HTC Touch

HTC Touch Cruise

HTC Touch Diamond

HTC Touch Pro

Nokia 6300

Nokia N82

Nokia N95 and N95 8GB

Nokia N96

Samsung i900 Omnia

Sony Ericsson K850

Sony Ericsson P990

Sony Ericsson P1i

Sony Ericsson W910

In addition, there’s also a generic mobile phone telescope that could be used with just about any other mobile phone.

Aside from the telescope itself, with every purchase you also get a handy strap and a crystal case with adapter.

Check out the complete list of all mobile telescope accessories available from Brando’s website.

I only wish they were a bit more ornate so that they looked more like real coins. Perhaps the designers were worried they'd be too easily lost if they were less distinguishable from real change.

Give the coins a little twist and the USB fob slips out.

Prices are fittingly reasonable: $20 for the 4GB "Penny" and $30 for the 8GB "Dime".

It’s pretty safe to say we’ve all seen plenty of examples proving that they can make a USB drive inspired by just about anything and make some cash. Well here’s a cute new idea, USB drives inspired by coins. These USB keys were designed specifically to turn a few heads. Luckily, they don’t do so by creating a drive with a cheesy design. This one is quirky and could easily be carried by anyone and still look like a professional.

They come in two different sizes and styles. The smaller drive has a copper finish and the larger a shiny silver finish. They also have printed on them exactly what size they are. One of the best features about this USB drive is that the plug itself retracts to be stored within the coin. Which means no having to worry about losing the cap. The copper coin has 4GB of storage and will cost you $19.99. Then the silver has 8GB of storage and is priced at $29.99. You can pick up them both on LaCie.

(Or, for those who already use waterproof cameras, it could just be another level of protection.) There's no price at this time, but look for the Elecom cards on the international market this month. Importing on this piece of gear won't cause you any compatibility issues. By Andrew Liszewski

I’ve seen plenty of demos where a digital camera is sitting at the bottom of a fish tank to show how waterproof it is, but these are the first SDHC cards I’ve seen that are just as H20 friendly. Elecom’s new 4, 6 and 8GB Class 6 SDHC cards are completely waterproof so even if you happen to drop your non-water-friendly digital camera overboard, at least all of your vacation photos won’t be destroyed. Assuming you can retrieve the camera that is. There’s no word on pricing at this time, but you can probably expect them to run just a bit more than your standard SDHC card.
