Many of you are eagerly awaiting news on a Zune phone. Until that actually happens, take a look at this. Designed by Adam Huffman, the new Zune Contact concept comes loaded with a new user interface, a lickable super slim body, a 5MP digital camera and a full touch screen display. Unlike the 120GB Zune, this one is only a concept so don’t ask where you can buy it. You never know, we may see it’s like some day in the future.

For Zune fans awaiting the next Zune to come out, here’s a concept under the imagination of designer, Adam Huffman. Though it’s just his personal view on what it should or could look like, I personally like the design of his concept, I think the major downside to it, is that the width of the screen appears abit too wide…

He’s revamped the interface, made the body madly thin, slapped on a 5 MP camera and went all touchscreeny. Sure it’s just pie-in-the-sky now but who knows, something similar may come from Redmond Washington.

Zune Contact Concept

Adam Huffman has dreamt of the Zune Contact concept, hoping to see Microsoft go head-to-head with Apple in the phone arena sometime down the road. I’m not too sure whether that is worth the investment from the software giant, but it would be an interesting battle, that’s for sure. Hopefully the dud that is the Zune won’t be repeated in the Zune Contact, as this concept comes with a revamped user interface, a super slim body, a 5 megapixel camera and a full touch screen display - no idea if it supports multi-touch or not though. What do you think Microsoft needs to do to make an iPhone killer?

Nokia N96 review - about as good as it looks

The Nokia N96 has been highly anticipated as the Nokia N95 successor and new heir to the Nseries throne. With that sexy, glossy-black finish, under-lit keys, mobile TV, and fantastic optics, the Nokia N96 is the new king-of-the-ring when it comes to Espoos Nseries lineup.

We’ve already seen the Nokia N96 from all angles and subjective perspectives. For some, the addition of mobile TV and a refreshed design aesthetic isn’t enough to justify the jump from the Nokia N95. For others, the sleek new look combined with the improved build-quality and more precise sliding mechanism is enough to upgrade to the Nokia N96.

But, that doesn’t mean we can’t stand to see more Nokia N96 reviews. AllAboutSymbian has posted an “first impressions” review of the Nokia N96 that lauds the newly-minted Nseries flagship as having good build quality (as I mentioned from my hands-on time with the N96), solid slide mechanism, and affinity for fingerprints.

The camera shutter button was noted as being a bit stiff, although that’s more likely a personal perspective. I found the pre-production unit to have a well-balanced shutter button.

And, as expected from the Carl Zeiss optics used in the Nokia N96’s camera, the picture quality is top-notch (as you can see from the sample picture to the left).

At the end of this review, we're back where we left off. The Touch Pro and the Diamond just go together. In the face of Touch Pro, the Diamond has lost some of its one-of-a-kind design-driven edge and gained elsewhere (beside the waistline). It's not the most obvious QWERTY add-on only: the TV-out port, better battery and microSD card slot sound just as sweet. It's not as simple as "we liked the Diamond, so we like the Touch Pro even better". It just so seems the Touch Pro comes closer to the definitive PocketPC concept.

Anyway, it's time to draw the line and, from what our experience shows, the Touch Pro quite deserves every penny you spend on it. The price tag is hefty but it's worth noting that HTC Touch Pro costs less than the TyTN II used to upon release. There is no better device on the market in this class (yet) and if this is the kind of phone you are after - just go for it.

The good news for all the rest is that there's choice. The HTC Touch Diamond and the Samsung Omnia make pretty good keyboard-less alternatives.

Needless to say, the Touch Pro is still to receive its trial by fire. The Sony Ericsson XPERIA X1 will also have its say on the market success of the Pro. Now, that's good news for all of us: an exciting clash awaits.

DIY - How to Make a Chair out of an Insurance Sign!

Here’s an interesting DIY that re-uses an old State Farm insurance sign into a chair re-make.

This chair is made from, obviously, a 25-year old metal sign — but, to complete the concept, all the wood I used is recycled campaign sign posts. In this election season, those wooden stakes should be plentiful. They are generally crap, rough-sawn wood, but with a little sandpaper and elbow grease, they can be cleaned up. It is 100% recycled, save the fasteners.
