If you are, you’re clearly not a Berry lover. If you aren’t, I’m sure you’re lapping up all of the news…that is, if you’re not in line waiting for one right now!

For the Canucks out there (myself included) that are eagerly awaiting the launch of the Storm, I’ve got more news that will make you happy. Looks like Bell is getting ready to prep their dealers in 1-hour hands-on sessions with the device. Notice has gone out to all Bell dealers that training on the BlackBerry Storm will begin December 1st in various major centers across Canada. This type of training is the first hands-on event that has ever been scheduled by Bell. No doubt they want to get the launch of the Storm just right.

Scheduled dates for the hands-on training:

Vancouver: December 9th
Ottawa: December 9th
Montreal: December 4th & 5th
Quebec City:December 11th

Couple this with recent news that Bell & Telus would be receiving the device at the same time, and would make it available closely following the US launch… Keep your eyes peeled for the Storm. Within the first few weeks of December we should have touchscreen BlackBerry goodness in the great white north.

Chunghwa Telecom (CHT) on November 20 unveiled Hami, a package of free value-added services specifically designed for CHT 3G subscribers using iPhone 3G handsets. Hami will be launched alongside the iPhone 3G in December, according to CHT.

The name Hami derives from the Chinese for honeydew melon, continuing the fruity theme of the iPhone, and was chosen as it sounds like "happy me" in English, according to CHT's explanation. (This "creative" use of naming is not uncommon in the local market.) More interesting, the fact that CHT has demonstrated Hami in action this week despite announcing it had inked the deal with Apple to distribute the iPhone in Taiwan only last weekend, is evidence that the companies must have reached an agreement some time earlier.

Hami consists of 11 services including news, weather, stock market tracker etc., CHT indicated. CHT will set up an editing team responsible for producing audio/video and image content for Hami, the company noted.

Although CHT has not yet announced pricing for the iPhone 3G and related services, it is speculated the telco will subsidize the handset to cost NT$0 for an 8GB model and NT$2,990 (US$90) for a 16GB model along with a two-year contract, according to industry sources.

CHT currently offers the HTC Diamond at a subsidized cost of NT$2,990 alongside a NT$1,683 per month two-year 3G service contract. The company also announced recently a voice and 3G data tariff costing N$1,789 per month. As is typical for the Taiwan market, neither of these tariffs include any free call or data allowance, instead charges are deducted from the monthly subscription fee, before the company bills for any excess or ineligible charges (as defined by the contract).

<img style="cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 320px; height: 240px;" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/_h5hOmDEy1n4/SSa7KYBrwSI/AAAAAAABAOc/iA__KmbiJoI/s320/iphone.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5271106200806342946" />
Chunghwa Telecom will offer Hami, value-added services tailored for its iPhone 3G users

The folks over at Laptop have gotten some quality face time with a pre-production model of ASUS' 10-inch Eee PC 1002 HA, and they seem to like a lot of what they're seeing. It boasts stylings reminiscent of both the Eee PC S101 (trackpad) and the 1000H (keyboard), and as such is basically a hybridized version of the two, though the test model "wouldn't power on" so we can't got much further than that. We do however, know that it'll house a 1.6 GHz Intel Atom CPU with 1GB of RAM and a 160GB hard drive, and that it'll have a two-cell battery which ASUS claims will give users five hours of juice (though that sounds pretty suspect to us). The Eee PC 1002 HA is expected to ready to roar on the first of December for $499, but if you simply can't wait until then to have a look at it, hit the read like for more photos and a really, really interesting video.

Robots are meant to be cold and calculative, but nice to know that the human touch is still there in the PARO robot. In case this sounds familiar, you might have read about a robotic seal-like creature making its rounds on the Internet in the past year, talking about the PARO robot. Well, this white, furry chunk of circuitry and plush materials does not only look cute, it has a higher purpose in its life(span). Its mission is to offer relaxation, entertainment and companionship to the owners. More on the PARO robot right after the jump.

PARO has many effable qualities, and among them include :-

Paro has been found to reduce patient stress and their caregivers

Paro stimulates interaction between patients and caregivers

Paro has been shown to have a Psychological effect on patients, improving thier relaxation and motivation

Paro has improved the Physiological effect of patients vital signs

Paro improves the socialiazation of patients with each other and with caregivers

Specially designed to look like an adorable baby harp seal (at least you can be sure that this pup won’t be clubbed to death), the PARO robot comes with integrated intelligence that enables it to possess psychological, physiological, and social effects via physical interaction with human beings. PARO imitates animal behavior (not all though, good thing you don’t have to feed it, bathe it or clean up its poo), being more than capable of responding to various external stimuli including light, sound, temperature, touch and posture. Over time, PARO will develop its own character, so no two are ever alike - hmmm, sounds pretty much like the Pleo, eh?

The first production lot of 300 PAROs for the US market will be out in January next year, which means it will miss the lucrative Christmas shopping season. I suppose that doesn’t really matter since PARO comes with a price tag of $6,000, placing it well out of reach for most people but the well-heeled. Pre-orders will be taken from December 1st onwards by phone, fax or e-mail.

Atomic Floyd has released its own pair of in-ear headphones known as Titanium2, merging both form and functionality into a single device. Some of the innovative features found in the Titanium2 include AcousticSteel and SoundProof. Couple that with the angel wing ear loops look, and you'll get a better idea of the Titanium2. Designed by Stefan Andrén, the Titanium2 is more than welcome for use with the most popular portable media players in the market today in addition to other MP3 devices. Atomic Flyod will launch the Titanium2 this December in the UK.

Here in the United States, some might say that we are in the middle of an economic free fall, while others might say that we are in the middle of a financial meltdown. Personally, I think they both might be right. On the bright side, many companies, itching to stay in business, are offering great products at bargain prices. Take this 19 inch LCD monitor from AOC for example. It offers a huge bang for only 159 bucks.

This widescreen monitor has a great form factor and nice features. Specifically, you get full PC/Windows and Mac compatibility, both a VGA Dsub and DVI Port, Digital Input DVI-D HDCP, a 10,000:1 (dynamic) Contrast Ratio, and a 5ms fast response time. All of this comes packaged in this sexy, glossy black finish. Did I mention it is only $159? That is a heck of a deal; nothing like watching your stocks free fall in high-resolution and widescreen!

I expect that AOC won't be alone this holiday season in selling great products for prices that will guarantee that things sell. With luck, we will all have a little money available to afford these nice things.

The AirJax headphones are in-ear, but have earloops made of something they're calling Titanium2 (even better than version1?). They're also made of "acoustic steel" which is apparently specially heat-treated for maxiumum audio quality, and you can rotate the in-ear part relative to the metal frame for a custom fit. The AirJax gets a UK launch first in December for $180, putting them at the luxury end of things.
