Take a look at the offerings from Ikea and you’ll know what I mean - practical, space saving and easy on the eye. The Under Cabinet TV With DVD Player is surely a subscriber to that mantra.

Mounted under a cabinet in a kitchen or office, this compact media center lets you enjoy TV programs, DVD movies, music CDs, and AM/FM radio without creating countertop clutter. The 9″ diagonal screen flips down and can be swiveled 270 to achieve the preferred viewing angle; its 16:9 aspect ratio makes it ideal for watching movies. Its TFT active matrix LCD (the same as those used in flat panel televisions) produces sharp, detailed images with rich color in widescreen or standard 4:3 formats. It has a digital/analog television tuner, receives 135 cable channels, and it can be used as a stereo system, playing CDs as well as tuning in AM/FM radio stations. Plugs into AC and mounts easily with included hardware. Remote uses two AAA batteries (included) and has a magnet for attaching to a refrigerator.

Hammacher is currently making the Under Cabinet TV With DVD Player available for $299.95.

Following up on our post of July 21st about the Play TV add-on accessory for the PS3. It has now been leaked that Sony is adding a feature that will no doubt cause everyone PS3 owner in the US to salivate with desire. The DVR add-on with have no Digital Rights Management and will “export [recorded] videos to your PS3’s XMB menu as MPEG-4 video for free use on other devices.”

This is presumably to take advantage of the synergy with the PSP. But what a great idea - the Playstation 3 already the number 1 Blu-Ray DVD player in America, perhaps even the world. For Sony to put out a DVR component accessory which will not only expand the PS3 capability but also add synergy to the PSP and other media players is simply a stroke of genius. And it gets better.

According to Joystiq, the PlayTV unit comes with two high definition tuners allowing users to watch one channel while recording another - and enjoy it all in 1080p. 1080p folks. Full HiDefinition with no DRM. I’m sure lawyers at the MPAA are working overtime to draft legislation to prohibit the PlayTV from ever being sold here in the States. But thanks to Amazon.UK, will it be too long before they start popping up on eBay? You can bet I’ll be looking for them.

Everyone and their mama is partnering with Zeemote these days. We saw Sony Ericsson and Nokia announcing they will bundle the Zeemote JS1 Controller with their devices in select markets. Even before that, Gameloft said that their games will sing along the mobile gaming controller.

Now a new player is entering into the mix. It’s a small, not-that-known mobile games developer Sprimp from Paris, France. Are they doing this to get some media traction or are they really excited about Zeemote’s prospects? It’s really hard to tell at this stage.

We do, however, have Sprimp’s Dimitris Tsiflitzis words, who said: “We are pleased to announce that Sprimp will be adding Zeemote JS1 support to the upcoming collection of titles. Adding Zeemote JS1 controller compatibility to our mobile games will allow our players to enjoy mobile gaming in an entirely new and exciting way. We are delighted to have become a Zeemote partner.”

In addition to the hodge podge of handheld Simons, Pokeballs, Firefox, webcams and Google logos, Neatorama also throws in the Sal-9000 eye from 2010 for good measure. It also kinda looks like that robot lamp from yesterday (obviously, they're not remotely related). That is, until they decide to take advantage of their newfound freedom. Why not travel, take a pottery class or turn your empty kid's room into a tricked-out den of depravity? Wait, what? I can't believe I just wrote that. It's perverted and wrong...just the way you like it. So grab the Mrs. and a suitcase full of Viagra because things are about to get crazy over in the burbs.

Lighting:

The first thing you need to do is set an erotic mood. This giant bustier lamp should do the trick. [Japanese Bustier Lamp]

We all know that kids tend to wander back to the nest when the food and money runs out. That means you need a backup plan to protect your privacy. The "Sex in Progress" lamp will ensure that you kid will be running back to the dorm as fast as possible. Available for $25. [Baron Bob via Link]

The Bed:

Now it is time to focus on the most important part of the room—the bed. One option is to go with the Private Cloud—a patented rocking bed by German designer Manuel Kloker. Legend has it that a couple was so intense that they managed to complete one full revolution. Think of the possibilities. [Manuel Kloker via Link]

Prefer something a little...rougher? No problem. Try Master R's Dungeon quality BDSM play frame. To the naked eye it looks like an innocent four-poster frame, but it features special fittings for slings, mirrors, stocks and other restraints for weird, painful fun. Available for $2655. It's like an even more perverted version of Twister. Available for about $35. [Shiny Shack]

Furniture:

No room would be complete without a few pieces of furniture, and the Adult Fun Stool is a must-have for any adult hideaway. The chair is spring loaded, so it will bounce up and down with you as you make good use of the attachment on top. Speaking of that, it is fully removable so you can use it like a traditional stool when not "in use." Just make sure to keep plenty of bleach on hand. Available for $315. [AFB]

Unfortunately, the legendary Vagina Couch was an art project sold on Craigslist earlier this year, so you may not be able to get your hands on the version pictured here. However, it could give you some good ideas if you are handy with a sewing machine. [Craigslist]

Accessories:

Now that you have the major components of the room down, it is time to start adding some finishing touches. If you simply must have a landline phone in the room, the Bona Phone is the only way to go with its patented "touch bone dialing" and orgasm ringtone. What you choose to do with it beyond making phone calls is your business. Available for $27. [Sensual Universe via Link]

If you and the Mrs. enjoy a game of chess now and then, this erotic version is sure to satisfy on multiple levels—especially if you are into some weird stuff. The pieces in this set get really freaky. [Russian Mammoth]

The last thing you need when you finally have the house to yourself is another kid cramping your style. It's always safety first with the condom-dispensing panic button. Therefore, it is only fitting that we conclude this journey into the nether regions of the soul with what is undoubtedly the most offensive ashtray ever conceived of by man.
Seoul, Korea, September 5, 2008 --- LG Electronics (LG), a global technology leader and pioneer in home appliance convergence, will participate in the Maison&Objet living design exhibition, held in Paris from September 5 to 9. Under the theme of “Eco-Chic Lifestyle,” the company will demonstrate how LG’s stylish design supported by technological excellence allows consumers to enjoy their daily lives in modern style.

“LG, once just an electronics manufacturer, is evolving into a lifestyle brand based on a harmony of style and technological excellence. By offering creative solutions for consumers’ everyday lives, LG’s home appliances play a critical role in promoting the core values of our corporate brand,” said Dermot Boden, Chief Marketing Officer of LG Electronics. “To achieve the ultimate goal of enhancing our brand power by emotionally engaging consumers, LG is taking fresh – and even daring – approaches to marketing. LG’s participation in Maison&Objet signifies our new direction as well as LG’s ongoing status as an iconic lifestyle brand.”

LG’s exhibition booth, designed through collaboration with style and trend forecasting agency NellyRodi Trendlab, will feature a variety of themed mini-rooms all under the umbrella banner of “Eco-Chic Lifestyle.” Visitors will have a 20-minute journey through an ideal, ecological home where LG’s stylish-yet-ergonomic appliances create perfect emotional comfort and delight. LG’s show highlights include a series of trendsetting products such as washing machines, refrigerators, air conditioners, cooking appliances, built-in appliances, TVs and home cinema systems, all connected through its industry-leading HomNet home networking service, all designed to appeal to sophisticated audiences in Europe and beyond.

“LG will fully demonstrate its design excellence though participating at Maison&Objet, the cradle of new design trends, while also establishing itself as an iconic lifestyle brand,” said Caroline Kim, Vice President of Marketing Strategy, LG Electronics Digital Appliance Company. “We are very excited about our collaboration with NellyRodi Trendlab for this exhibition. Our previous collaborations with NellyRodi have led to many successful products, such as our very popular Black series of appliances.”
LG’s booth is located at Stand R2S1 in Hall 5B now! Highlights of LG’s participation at Maison&Objet include:

 Washing Machine Zone – As Clean and Green as Nature
LG has set its latest steam washing machines amidst a forest-like setting at Maison&Objet. LG’s steam washers are widely recognized as much for their energy- and water-efficiency as their washing performance. Moss, ferns, trees and enchanting artificial fireflies help reinforce these washers’ greenness. Some washers will be even redecorated with mirror mosaics to further emphasize this “back to nature” theme.

 Kitchen Room Zone – A Party in the Garden
LG’s Kitchen Room Zone at Maison&Objet feels warm and lively, like in the middle of a garden. With casual dining experiences provided at the booth through cooking demonstrations, visitors will feel like they are having a party in their backyard on a clear, sunny day with close friends. People can also fully experience LG’s stylish kitchen products including built-in appliances, refrigerators and ovens.

 Living Room Zone – Boudoir Style
LG has created a private resting place for its Living Room Zone. This living room can be a one-of-a-kind place for visitors as the room itself responds to their needs and conditions. The color and drape of the room, aroma inside the room and home cinema systems can all be perfectly controlled, right at their fingertips, through LG’s innovative home networking system. The ambiance of the room will give visitors the sense of being inside a lovely flower, or a private boudoir.

 Air Conditioner Zone – Pure and Invigorating
In this zone, a set of five ArtCool air conditioners with changeable front panels will represent one single work of art by showing pieces of photos by internationally well-known wildlife photographers on their front panels: Antarctica by Mitsuaki Iwago and a winter tree by Shin Yoshino. Visitors will find themselves standing in a recreated snowy field, replete with walls completely covered with white faux fur, feeling like they are in very pure, untouched world.

 Gateway - to the Ideal Home
Located at the threshold of LG’s booth, the Viewing Zone symbolizes a gateway to an ideal home made real by LG makes through the exhibition. With six LG6000 Scarlet TVs displaying coordinated visuals, visitors will have a glimpse into the rest of LG’s creative exhibition at Maison&Objet.

At the LG’s booth during Maison&Objet exhibition, a cooking demonstration will take place four times a day, offering special dishes cooked by a professional chef from Potel et Chabot using LG’s light wave SolarCUBE oven. In addition, LG will offer a trendy water bar and rest area for special guests, including visiting journalists, to further enhance the experience of enjoying a modern lifestyle with a sense of nature and peace of mind.

Maison&Objet, founded in 1995, is one of the world’s biggest and most influential international exhibitions on home style and interior trends. The exhibition is held in Paris-Nord Villepinte, on the outskirts of Paris, two times a year, in January and September. In 2007, Maison&Objet had more than 100,000 visitors from 132 countries, including approximately 67,000 industry guests such as design researchers, certified architects, interior designers, decorators and hotel and spa professionals. The now! Hall at Maison&Objet is a must-see place for visitors and journalists, as it features new and trendsetting works by renowned designers from all over the world.
