Not that you won't be able to buy this thing from carriers here shortly, but there's just nothing quite like being the first on your block to own a new handset. For those with cash to burn and an insatiable desire to play with RIM's forthcoming Kickstart 8220, look no further than eBay. Up for auction right now is an unlocked version of the aforesaid mobile, but it looks as if the final bid will end up well over a grand. Good luck (being patient).

Suprising news that Dmitry Grinberg Gets C&D’d by Palm. How picky can you get? Going after your loyal supporters even when you have abandoned development of your older products sounds to me like a baaad thing to do. Dmitry is a great developer and I am one of his registered users. In fact long after Palm has given up on PDAs, developers like Dmitry have taken on the challenge of enhanching their older devices with efforts like developing an SDHC driver to enable use of larger capacity SD cards in older Palms.
Rather than have to rename this site the Plmdc Chronicles, I have changed the About page for this site and included a disclaimer so hopefully we’ll keep itchy law firms at bay.

I grew up living in the middle of nowhere, so I’m used to dealing with bugs and strange creatures. Of course, no one likes mosquitoes, since they leave you with itchy little bumps. There are plenty of contraptions that promise to rid your yard of the pests, but few actually perform. So what if I told you there was something that was proven to get rid of up to 600 bugs per hour? Would you want something like that in your yard? What if I told you that bug-killer was a bat?

Yes, the average bat will eat around 600 bugs, including mosquitoes, per day (or night rather). With a simple Bat Conservatory you keep a few bats hanging around (bad pun alert!) your yard , and thus keeping the area bug population at a minimum. If you don’t mind the bats being around at night, then install this Bat Conservatory made from Western Red Cedar for around $55.

The InFocus X10 projector is definitely a great combination of brightness and resolution. InFocus out did themselves when they created this little masterpiece. The X10 projector features a full HD (1920 x 1080) resolution and 1200 ANSI lumens. It also comes with a 2500:1 contrast ratio and is able to display images up to 200 inches diagonally. The reviewer at Trusted Reviews thought that this projector was worth much more than the £765.10 (about $1500) it retails for. The biggest problem they found with the X10 is the susceptibility to the DLP’s rainbow effect. The rainbow effect is when stripes of pure red, green, and blue that flit about for a split second in your peripheral vision, or over very bright parts of the image. This effect is caused by the DLP’s color wheel mechanism. The reviewer continued to say, “If I had a pound for every time I’d used the phrase ‘you only get what you pay for’ in the course of my reviews for this website, I’d be a wealthy man by now. But thankfully very occasionally you stumble across a perspective-shifting product that’s the exception to the rule. And the X10 is just such a product - with knobs on. In fact, quite where the rest of the home projection industry goes from here is anyone’s guess.”

Did you just get rescued from a famine-struck third-world country by a long-long filthy rich uncle? Do you have nothing but skin and bones to show for a figure and enough cash to buy a small island in the Pacific rim? Then you certainly need to get yourself invited to the charity auction that will see Victoria Beckham giving away her precious Roberto Cavalli costume that she wore on the recent Spice Girls tour. Of course you might need to get your uncle’s ‘people’ make a few phone calls because apparently Posh would consider offers from individuals- for the right price only, which of course means that the Swarovski crystals minidress worth $500,000 and the hideous gold corset and leggings worth something like $60,000 could well shoot up way above the asking price.

But hey, if you adored the Spice Girls as a kid, a few million dollars shouldn’t stop you from getting your hands on something drenched in Posh’s stale bodily fluids. P.S. I know Kate Moss could have been a major threat in your acquisition of the “memorabilia” items, but since she’s got her own itchy crystal-covered dress, your coast is all but clear.
