WowWee’s first female robot ever, Femisapien, is now available for purchase for $99 (USD). So far she’s been spotted for sale at Amazon, Target, and WowWee’s online store and listed as being in stock. Femisapien is also known as E.M.A. the Kissing Robot.

We Get Mail: Drews first week with the Vertu Ascent Ti

Those of you who read my comparison of the Vertu Ascent and the Vertu Constellation may recall that in the comments section, Drew and I both mentioned we were interested in the Vertu Ascent Ti. Shortly after that I got an email from him, saying that he hadn’t been able to resist: he bought one! I have just received a report on his first week with the Ti.

Even if you can’t afford one, and at approximately $7,000 not many can, it’s fun to live vicariously through Drew’s purchase…

Thought I’d drop an email and give you the first week…

In the box.. The smallest box I’ve ever seen for a Vertu but that’s a good thing.. Inside the main box are two boxes made out of leatherette with magnetic closure.. Inside is the phone, the key to open the back of the phone, the battery, a USB cable, and a charger. There is also a manual, the usual marketing materiel, and a CD for Vertu PC Suite (Remarkably close to Nokia PC Suite but not quite.

Review: Spire Edge 15 Computer Sleeve

When I bought my MacBook Pro back in 2006, I was all over needing a case for it. I tried regular notebook cases, and those didn’t work for me. I tried a backpack case, and that seemed to work ok, but I couldn’t help but feel that my baby was still a bit on the naked side. When Judie offered me the opportunity to review the Spire Edge 15 Laptop sleeve, I jumped at the chance. The last thing I wanted was another ding on my MBP (see the last picture, after the break)

The first detailed review ever of WowWee’s first female robot ever is now online, posted just minutes ago. In-depth review and companion video gives solid coverage of Femisapien’s revolutionary new touch based interface and shows several of her many truly unique and entertaining behaviors. Review: Myvu Crystal 701 Personal Media Viewer

Even though the screen is small, I enjoy watching video on my iPhone and iPod Touch. No, it will never match the experience of watching a movie on a 50 inch hi-definition LCD, but it is more than merely functional- it is a pleasant experience. I’ve had my eye on Myvu’s various offerings for some time, watching carefully as each new one was released. I have wondered if they really worked. And, assuming they did work, wondered whether the experience of watching video through Myvu would be that much better than viewing on my iPhone.

So, when the opportunity to try out the Myvu Crystal arose (thanks Judie) I jumped at it.

iPhone 3G Debut Impressions

[Note from Judie - Stan sent this opinion piece in while I was at the ranch this weekend. I think it is still relevant, so here you go...]

Hey iPhone owners-in a phrase, Apple today has screwed up. Call it as is. And I love my iPhone, my MacBook Air and just about everything Apple (see my previous posts on my love of the iPhone). Even if you have one business model that produces a widget with a fabulous end to end user experience based a beautifully married hardware & software, you can still screw up big time on huge promises that lack the back office capability to execute as planned. How many thousands of new iPhone owners are right now sitting at home with bricked iPhones?

This is not a good situation. Unlike last year’s original iPhone debut, this one had a 22 country worldwide rollout. If you promise thousands of people worldwide to sell them an iPhone on July 11th, shouldn’t you plan to have the technology available to close the deal? Apple expected long lines so they should of planned for thousands of activations today.

An Apple employee running crowd control said they were staying open until 11pm tonight to sell people iPhones. This line looked to be about 150 feet long with over 100 customers at about 7:30pm EST.

Beyza Case Thinvelope Redux

A few months ago Judie received a MacBook Air Thinvelope from BeyzaCases. Thing was, she didn’t have a MacBook Air. A few weeks later, however, her MacBook Pro went on the fritz and, in good “gadget guru” style, Judie wasted no time. She sent it in for repair. In the meantime, Judie picked up an MBA to go with her beautiful leather Thinvelope. Isn’t it great when things work out so nicely?!

Not long after, I was breaking the 10th Commandment and coveting the heck out of her Thinvelope. After all, I had gotten MY MBA the first day they were shipping.
