Walmart's making heavy with the pre-Black Friday deals, so a few of today's bargains come from Sam Walton's playland, like a free $10 gift card on Gears of War 2, a few hundred bucks off a 46-inch 1080p set, and a cheap Walkman MP3 player. And of course, we've got a lot more where that came from, in case you hate Walmart but still love deals.

Gaming
•Buy 2 Nintendo DS Games, Get the 3rd Free at Amazon (valid until 11/8).
•$10 gift card for Walmart.com with Gears of War 2 purchase

Home Entertainment
•Sharp 42-Inch 1080p LCD HDTV for $899 with free shipping (starts tomorrow at 7am for 72 hours, originally $1399)
•Onkyo TX-SR506 Black 7.1 Channel Receiver for $185 plus free shipping (originally $299.
Those with a penchant for DIY will definitely find themselves naturally attracted to the OCZ DIY Gaming Notebook that is powered by the Intel Centrino 2 platform. This 15.4" notebook is out to offer a careful balance between performance and portability, featuring advanced connectivity features, a longer battery life, and an ATI Raedon HD3650 integrated graphics platform. I wouldn't say this is a bona fide gaming notebook though, but at least it is a whole lot more portable than real beasts out in the market. This ought to run the latest titles with all the graphical options toned down in order to get a decent framerate, but if you're planning on using it for WoW, this is more than adequate.

Alright, so this Home Office PC (which I talked about last week) is coming a little bit closer to reality. I appreciated your help and would have loved to take your advice guys… but being from the windswept glacial regions of the North (Canada), NewEgg was not an option for me. I went with TigerDirect, and below is my shopping list.

One Acer X223WBD 22″ Widescreen LCD Monitor - 5ms, 2500:1, (WSXGA+) 1680×1050, DVI, Black

XFX GeForce 8200 Motherboard CPU Bundle - AMD Athlon 64 X2 4600+ Processor 2.40GHz Retail

Two Hitachi Deskstar 7K1000 1000GB Hard Drives - 7200RPM, 32MB, Serial ATA-300, OEM

OCZ SLI-Ready Dual Channel 4096MB PC6400 DDR2 800MHz Memory (2×2048MB)

Power Up Black 336 ATX Mid-Tower Case with Front USB, Audio Ports and 450-Watt Power Supply

Ultra X-Wind Aluminum Socket K8/AM2 CPU Cooling Fan

HP DVD1070i 20X SATA Multiformat DVD Writer - With Lightscribe Retail

Brother MFC Printer

SATA Cables

To find out how much I paid for each item and to understand why I picked some elements rather than others, hit the link at the bottom of this article.

Also, you might notice there’s no keyboard, mouse or webcam. I could have bought these right away, but I’ll wait for the mail-in rebates. I got my own for now.
