We at Engadget will always have a special place in our hearts for Street Fighter, and if you can't help but agree, you might be unable to resist picking up one of these. Mad Catz has introduced a new pair of joysticks for Sony's PlayStation 3: the Street Fighter IV FightStick Tournament Edition and the Street Fighter IV FightStick. The first will only be available in "very limited quantities," and it'll pack the exact Sanwa joystick and 30-millimeter buttons found in the official Street Fighter IV arcade machine; the latter is a more commoditized version with a more vanilla 'stick and plain jane buttons. Both devices are scheduled to ship on February 20th of next year, with pricing set at $149.99 and $69.99, respectively.

[Via PS3 Fanboy]

Read - Street Fighter IV FightStick Tournament Edition
Read - Street Fighter IV FightStick

Mad Catz Street Fighter IV joysticks surface for PS3 originally appeared on Engadget on Thu, 04 Dec 2008 07:27:00 EST.
My friend Matt just got a Canon 5D mkII and shot us this video from his balcony in the Eurolands. The file was about 450MB for around 90 seconds of shooting. It's a very, very dark shot, but that's sort of the point; it was almost pitch dark outside on his balcony and he still was picking up a lot of light. (I think it's kind of pretty, actually, especially when the train rolls by.)

Here's Matt's tech description:
This is a test shot from my balcony with a 5d mkII. it's pitch dark outside - correct exposure for the bright areas of the frame is something around a second, f:1.8 for iso 400. the lens is the 28 1.8, i'd assume it's shooting wide open and at 3200 iso. the camera is handheld. the card is a sandisk extreme iii, which seemed to work just fine. i tried with an old ultra, and it buffered out after about 5 seconds.

Can't wait to see what it looks like with some daytime light — and what Matt, one amazing photographer, does with it as a plain ol' DSLR.

Microsoft has now confirmed rumors about upgrading the internal memory for its Xbox 360 Arcade game console to have 256MB of internal storage. The upgrade will allow more games and media to be stored inside without the need for an external memory card.

In the current 360 Arcade models, users were required to use an external 256MB card to store information. This worked well for the most part but left the memory open to being removed at the wrong time giving the system adverse effects, and to just plain losing the memory card.

“We are constantly updating the console’s more than 1700 internal components. We can confirm that we are moving to internal memory for the Xbox 360 Arcade. The physical internal memory is the same size as the previous external memory units - 256MB,” said a spokesperson for Microsoft.

In response to consumer demand, Wild Planet (creators of the original 2006 Spy Video Car) introduces an all-new spy video vehicle, the Spy Video ATV-360. This remote-controlled tank wirelessly transmits real-time video and audio back to a private headset. The new track-based movement system allows the ATV to climb over obstacles and lets secret agents inspect enemy territory from the safety of their own spy headquarters. Scope out a room and hear if anyone is coming from up to 75 feet away. Confirm the coast is clear by pushing a button on the remote control to perform a 360-degree room scan. Full-circle turns offer early detection of renegade spies approaching from any direction. Because plain-sight video monitors are not acceptable in the spy world, the ATV-360 sends images to a private LCD lens mounted to a pair of lightweight frames. Sound is heard through a single ear bud. Siblings spy on each other, parents check-in on the kids, employees search for approaching bosses – regardless of the mission at hand, the Spy Video ATV-360 is the ultimate surveillance device and is cool enough to make even James Bond jealous.

Product Features:
RC all terrain vehicle with real-time video and listener
See video and hear sounds transmitted by your stealth ATV
Full-function, dual-track radio controlled ATV with off-road power
360-degree view button on remote camera
Comes with headset LCD viewing screen and ear bud for listening

The Spy Video Car is the first RC video camera with infrared night vision! Because plain-sight video monitors are not acceptable in the spy world, you'll need the one-of-a-kind private screen of the Spy Video Car to keep your secrets safe from enemy eyes. Wear the lightweight frames with the single LCD lens to ensure you're the only one who views the video transmitted through your RC vehicle. Adjust the camera angle on the wireless spy car and send it on secret missions using the hand-held remote control. Observe the journey and the destination through the small screen attached to your headset. Darkness poses no obstacle for the Spy Video Car as its infrared night-vision system lets you see clearly in the dark without emitting any visible traces of light. From the safety of your spy headquarters, watch what's going on wherever your video vehicle travels, indoors and out, up to 75 feet away. 90 day warranty. The ultimate spy rover is here!

Product Features:
- REAL NIGHT VISION -- you see them but they don't see you, LCD screen lets you navigate
- The Spy Video Car includes a headset, screen and hand-held controller
- The sleek R/C features a built-in video camera with night vision, that sends a live feed to a flip-up screen on your headset up to 75 feet away
- 2006 Top 5 New Toys: NBC News, Family Fun Magazine, "What I want" - TV Show
- View all the action through your own personal headset

Customer feedback:

1. Pretty expensive but I ended up splurging and getting it for my 8 year old nephew for this coming Christmas. I ended up giving it to him this weekend instead; I wanted to see it go too and couldn't wait 4 months!
My nephew REALLY likes it but, oy!, is the video bad -- what they show in the online commercial is quite a bit clearer and contrasty than what we see in our actual unit. I think the infrared aspect blurs things a bit and its sensitivity is pretty low in any case. You can't read ANY writing thru the video, regardless of size of print, etc. Still, the video link is minimally serviceable (adequate for manuevering with a little bit of practice) and my nephew has a BIG time sitting in his "command center" and sending it out on "remote missions" using only the onboard video link. Seems fairly robust and sturdy so far.

2. The toy itself is great fun. It's basically a remote control car with a spy camera on it that you can use to view anything it's pointed at and you view using spy glasses. The image is black and white and pretty good quality. It's equivalent to any remote video spycam you see shown on tv like from atm's or other spycams. The car is also very quite. I've heard reviewers write it's loud. Ours is not at all. It's not completely silent. If you are sitting in a room reading a book you will hear it come in, but if there is any noise in the room at all, a conversation going on, the tv on, or a radio at normal levels, the car can sneak in unnoticed so beware those of you in the shower, lock the doors. The kids have great fun trying to sneak in on parents activities. I found myself typing on the computer several times only to see this thing watching me and hear my kids in the other room laughing.

Yes, you got a plan to go with your iPhone that you use to call and text people, but there’s nothing like a backup system that will let you text for free in case you suddenly need it. This iPhone App called SMS Touch can be downloaded for US$5 from the App Store.

SMS Touch also lets you compose messages in landscape mode aside from sending messages out for free. The app supposedly sends an email through an SMS Gateway; the email arrives at the recipient’s phone as a plain text message. Unfortunately, according to source, the message won’t list your name as the sender and the “From:” box is filled out with binary numbers. Nevertheless, getting free text when you really need it for a one-time fee is not so bad, so it could be worth your while.

Winter is just around the corner - in places that get winter - so I’m sure that fireplaces and bonfires are being fired up everywhere. Wherever winter comes. So with all the fire some people see, I can understand why some of you might be tired of plain old red flame. You might be thinking,”Is there something out there that could spice up my boring old flame? Something that might be called, I don’t know… Mystical Fire? Can that something add colors like blue and green to my flame making it appear like the picture below?”

And then you think, “Yes, yes… and this Mystical Fire should be in powder form, so I could just sprinkle 1 to 3 packages on any outdoor/indoor wood burning fire, and so I can use it not only for camping and for luring my brother into the fireplace but also as props for Friday night D&D’s. Also, I think they should come in 25 gram sachets. Not 26 grams. 25. Because 25 grams is the right amount to create fires like the one below.”

Finally you think, “If such a Mystical Fire powder should exist, it would be really nice if it sells for like… £1.49 (appx. $2.29 USD). Over at Boy’s Stuff. Man. it sure would be nice if there really was some Mystical Fire powder.”

Here’s where I come in, and say “You there, red flame hater! You crazy psychic! Call me if you begin thinking of the numbers that a winning lottery ticket would have.”

Cyber Monday, the Monday following Thanksgiving, is a marketing event made up by the online retail industry. The origin comes from the belief that shoppers like to go out shopping on Black Friday and the weekend. But come Monday, they’re back at work and hunting for deals online.

This year, online sales haven’t been doing so well. So, retailers are really hoping for a lot of Cyber Monday action. According to the National Retail Federation’s Shop.org, which coined the ‘Cyber Monday’ term, 84.6 million consumers plan to shop online from home or at work today, up from 72 million in 2007, says a Reuters news story.
