Users can download and install a free, mobile-operator independent iDial Mobile application to their compatible mobile handsets from www.my.idial.fi website. Users who are registered to the website can create mobile communities and communicate within the community by using iDial Mobile application’s rich communications tools.

With iDial Mobile application community members can:

•share mobile handset’s calendar, presence and location information automatically
•use chat and poke functionalities
•place free VoIP calls over the Internet in 3G or WLAN networks
•engage in multiple simultaneous chat sessions
•build easy to use internet phonebooks with contacts’ calendar, presence and location details
”Sesca provides mobile software and development services for mobile phone operators and manufacturers and for enterprise customers. By giving iDial Mobile application to users for free, we hope to receive plenty of user experience, feedback and ideas for further development of the application. Our intention is to offer iDial Mobile Community solution with support services to enterprise customers”, says Juha Sumelahti, the Managing Director of Sesca Mobile Software Oy.

The iDial Mobile application enables users to share their availability, presence and location information automatically. The application is able to fetch calendar and profile information from the user’s mobile phone. The application shows if the user is in a meeting or if they are available, and the mode of their mobile phone (shut off, meeting or mute mode). iDial Mobile application also identifies automatically the nearest WLAN and GSM network and shares the location of a community member. Users can also write personal messages in a status field, an option used widely in web communities.

Members of the iDial Mobile Community can place free VoIP calls over the Internet in WLAN or GSM networks. They can also send and receive chat messages and engage in multiple simultaneous chat sessions. With a poke functionality users can send and receive vibrating poke alerts to mobile phones. The features of iDial Mobile application include automatic updates of new versions and diverse options for user settings.

The user manages different functionalities of the iDial Mobile application through a personal web page. Users can update the internet phonebook, which also shows contacts’ calendar, presence and location details; invite new members to the community; engage in a chat session with an other user’s mobile phone; and send poke messages to a mobile phone. The personal web page includes also real-time calendar, presence and location information of the user.

”Sesca iDial Mobile Community is a future showcase of rich communications tools and web communities built by integrating web 2.0 and mobile phone technology. We also believe that enterprises will also implement mobile communities in the near future”, says Andreas Paschinsky, the product manager of iDial Mobile Community.

The iDial Mobile application is currently available for Nokia mobile phones running on Symbian S60 3rd Edition operating system.

Sesca Group Oy

Finland-based Sesca Group delivers and integrates ICT and automation solutions and services for the telecommunication, energy production and process industries.
Sure we’ve seen a number of diamond-encrusted iPhones. What was missing were an appropriate headphones, and voila, they are in front of you. These earphone covers are designed to work perfectly with Apple’s gear, and by gear we mean headphones. Designed to be super-exclusive for super-rich folks, these diamond-encrusted iPhone/iPod earphone covers costs $60,000! You’ve read that right - that’s sixty thousand US dollars. Some diamond iPhones cost less…

If that’s too much for you, there’s a $4,500 “version” encrusted with black or white diamonds, or the “fake-billionaire-version” covered with multi-colored Swarovski crystals that could be yours for just $110. A bargain, if you want to hang out with tycoons.

Well, I did get a little harsh on Palin the other day, our reader Nicole Price from GreatPricesHere.com left a comment that did get my attention and I’ve had enough of this Political drama between Obama and McCain.

Frankly, I take no sides in this political campaign but McCain is too OLD to be President.

I really like how McCain answer gay marriage question, couldn’t he just say that gay marriage should be allowed since if it’s not, it’s a prejudice against sexual orientation, thus against U.S. Constitution?

Here’s a funny clip from Saturday Night Live where McCain says being old is one of the characteristics a President should have.

Well, I think being old has nothing to do with ANYTHING. Look at Tiger Woods, he beat the crap out of everyone who’s OLD, made a new game out of golf.

Well, I am not taking sides here but McCain is definitely not it, I just don’t want to see another Bush marathon of U.S. economy collapse and $700 billion spent on rich people. Just think about what happened yesterday when AIG decided to use $400,000 on corporate outing when their company is part of that $700 billion that I might be paying for! Here’s the protest video. I even predicted this couple days ago…

Okay, now you can tell me why you want to vote for Obama or McCain. Let me go on blogging again now.

If Google’s ambitions for its recently-launched Android smartphone operating system are fully realized, the new OS will represent a tipping point in attitudes towards the whole concept of a smartphone. This tectonic shift will affect consumers, handset manufacturers and, most critically, mobile network operators.

According to ABI Research director Kevin Burden, “If Android is to become the ubiquitous mobile phone platform that Google and the Open Handset Alliance hope it will be, it will be because operators and handset OEMs recognize the value to their own business models of using standard platforms, not because wireless subscribers clamor for feature-rich phones, much less an Android-based phone.”

The current smartphone market accounts for only 14% of worldwide handsets. That doesn’t help Google’s aspirations to have a platform used by a wide population to whom they can market their services. Google needs to convince handset manufacturers to replace the real-time operating systems that now power the majority of mobile phones. In the smartphone market of the future, users won’t always be aware of what they’re buying: they will buy simply because they’re in the market for a phone, not specifically a smartphone.

The challenge is to convince operators that having more phones in their lineups and more subscribers using those phones based on standardized operating systems is good for them. Standardization delivers easier manageability at the technical level and greater ease in marketing services to all their subscribers.

“The smartphone market has been moving in this direction for some time now,” Burden continues. “If Android is a success, it may be the tipping point that marks the start of a profound change in the smartphone market.”

Gsmarena have posted their review of the Nokia 6600 slide. Here are the key features, main disadvantages and final conclusion.

<img style="cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_h5hOmDEy1n4/SO9YnriG6eI/AAAAAAAA-lM/j9eAcB_sSw4/s320/6600.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5255516728888584674" />

Key features:
•Quad-band GSM/GPRS/EDGE support, dual-band UMTS
•Accelerometer for tap-for-time and tap-to-mute
•2.2" 16M-color QVGA display
•3 megapixel camera, autofocus and LED flash
•VGA video recording at 15fps
•S40 user interface, 5th edition, FP1
•Bluetooth (with A2DP) and USB-on-the-go
•Stereo FM radio with RDS
•microSD card slot (up to 8 GB), 512MB included
•Rich preinstalled application package
•Nokia Maps
•Compact and extra smooth
•Sweet oval shapes and neat slider design
•Large capacity BL-4U battery (Li-Ion 1000 mAh)

Main disadvantages:
•Fingerprint magnet, hard to clean
•Rigid battery cover latch
•Memory card slot under the battery, no hot-swap
•No camera shutter key
•Below par camera quality
•Display easily gets scratched
•No smart dialing
•No multi-tasking
•No office document viewer

To wrap it up, Nokia 6600 slide rounds off a nice little family get-together. It's a neat cross-section of the Nokia midrange from the basic comfort of the 3600 slide through the exquisite elegance of the 6600 flip. With some 6500 slide and classic in the distant background, Nokia 6600 slide is put right in the middle of a rich tale of family ties and heritage.

To begin with, 6600 slide tops the 3600 slide right where it counts: screen estate, 3G and looks. So, we guess, it's a point won for the 6600 slide.

The compact and suave slider is a good match for the outlandish charm of the 6600 fold. The 6600 pair does well to achieve cohesion and distinct identity but we can't help the thought that the specific targeting of the girly flip makes it a little bit more focused. Not to mention that it's a lot easier for the 6600 fold to get away with being overpriced.

So, we end up exactly where we were with the 6500 classic / 6500 slide duo. One is outspokenly driven by looks, the other tries to bring an extra dimension of skill but ends up harder to define and exposed to a lot more pressure.

However, sailing the seas on a giant guitar is something that tends to get people noticed. The boat is prominently featured in the video for his new single Make You Happy, and it appears to be an accurate replica of his favorite guitar. Unfortunately, it is not an actual, playable instrument—which is just as well. Jamming on this thing would require far too much effort.
Either Aussie singer/guitarist Josh Pyke shrunk to a tenth his size, or somebody built a scaled-up replica of his Maton acoustic guitar. Indie rocker Pyke takes a ride on the seaworthy mega-guitar in an upcoming music video of his song "Make You Happy," released last Friday. By the way, the guy is a really good guitarist/singer/songwriter.

It looks like it would be pretty hard to actually play a song on this guitar-zilla unless he could get a couple of assistants to stand on the proper frets. But this guy Josh, we'll just call him Captain Pyke, our real guitar hero. That does it — we want a submarine shaped like a saxophone.
