I’m from Texas and we take grillin’ pretty seriously around here. In fact, I once saw a man beat down for overcooking a T-Bone and let me tell you Grandpa is fast with the meat thermometer now. It seems at least some folks in Florida take grilling pretty seriously as well.

Michael Seville has built the ultimate tailgating trailer that was started life as a massive grill on wheels used for a family catering business. The trailer has been converted to a sports bar and packs more electronics than most living rooms.

The system sports a beer tap, Samsung flat screen TV, DVD receiver with iPod controller, Polk Audio speakers, and Alpine amps. The trailer was so cool it won first prize in the Crutchfield “You Dream It, We’ll Help You Built It - Tailgate Dreams” contest. I’m betting Jeff Foxworthy would have a field day with this thing. I can hear it now, “if your grill has more electronics than your home theater, you might be a redneck.”

Some men build pyramids. And some men, really, really great men, build gigantic BBQ trailers. The winner of Crutchfield's "You Dream It We'll Help You Build It" contest, Michael Seville took his late father's 10-foot long galvanized propane tank and mounted it as the chief component of this 17-foot mobile BBQ. Then he stuffed the rest of the platform with electronics.

So while he's roasting a pig...or two...or three...Seville can listen to an unspecified but bold looking wattage-worth of Polk Audio speakers and Alpine amplifiers. He can watch his Samsung TV complete with Valor DVD receiver. And then, when he's all done partaking in the digital deliciousness, he can sink his teeth into some succulent smoked ribs, or maybe just a simple brat and beer.

Damn we need to get to an Octoberfest already. And fast. The turbine drives a generator, producing electricity.

Compared to conventional flat panel solar cells, concentrating photovoltaics is more cost efficient because the solar collector is less expensive than an equivalent area of solar cells.
Concentrating photovoltaics operates most effectively in sunny weather, since clouds and overcast conditions create diffuse light which essentially can not be concentrated.

The PS10 solar power plant is promoted by Solúcar Energía, an Abengoa Group company.
This project has counted with the co-funding from the 5th European Union Framework Program. Activities of Solgate Technology are still continuing today, with the presence of Solúcar R&D in the Solhyco Project which intent to obtain the hybridization of the system developed on the Solgate stage with gasified biomass. The Solhyco Project counts with the collaboration of renowned research centers such as DLR and Ciemat, and which has been co-funded under the 6th European Union Framework Program.

Because concentrating photovoltaics perform better in environments with clear skies, Europe is also looking across the Mediterranean to the Sahara desert, where solar farms could provide clean electricity for the whole of Europe, according to EU scientists working on an scheme to build a €4.500.000 European supergrid that would allow countries across the continent to share electricity from abundant green sources.
In addition, because the sunlight in this area is more intense, solar photovoltaic (PV) panels in northern Africa could generate up to three times the electricity compared with similar panels in northern Europe.
Arnulf Jaeger-Walden of the European commission's Institute for Energy, speaking at the Euroscience Open Forum in Barcelona, said it would require the capture of just 0.3% of the light falling on the Sahara and Middle Eastern deserts to provide all of Europe's energy needs.
Jaeger-Walden explained how electricity produced in solar farms in Africa, each containing power plants generating around 50-200MW of power, could be fed thousands of miles across European countries by using high-voltage direct current transmission lines instead of the traditional alternating current lines. Energy losses on DC lines are far lower than AC ones where transmission of energy over long distances is uneconomic.

<!--

Keruve, a Spanish company out of Seville, has developed a device that helps to locate folks suffering from dementia or childhood insubordination. Using assistance from cell phone towers in addition to standard GPS, the watch-like device can locate itself even inside buildings and send that information to a monitoring unit.

Luxury tour operator Abercrombie and Kent maintains their prominent Private Jet string with impressive new journeys. Appreciate a comfy and elite way to tour that not many are honored to experience - an amazing expedition by private jet that tenders unique comfort, service, insider’s entrée, and ‘Design Your Day’ preferences. Now, they have a proposal exclusively for American Express card holders - a 24 nights world tour for a mere $97,970 per person. The exclusive tour covers five continents and eight matchless cultures, from the volcanoes on Easter Island to the Great Pyramid of Giza. All journeys travel on board a reconfigured Boeing 757 private jet that has been refurbished to house 52 passengers comfortably, with a lounge. The declared itinerary comprises Apia (Samoa), Sydney (Australia), Jaipur (India), Dubai (UAE), and Seville (Spain), along with above mentioned places. Travel dates are January 20 to February 13, 2009. American Express Platinum and Centurion card members can order this once-in-a-lifetime experience by calling the number on the back of their card.
