Hello Kitty’s all over the place - her mug has been used in just about any and every device imaginable to date, and this time round she comes in something slightly different but no less attractive - the Hello Kitty Action DJ Speaker. Word from ThinkGeek below.

Hello Kitty in a DJ booth with a speaker in the base is a pretty cool juxtaposition of dance music and Kitty. She even bops her head back and forth with the music. Plug in your iPod or similar music playing device and observe the cuteness for yourself. If you’re really looking to give in and completely “cute out” we recommend the pink version. Hey, we won’t judge you… we’re already there ourselves.

She will set you back by $24.99 this time round.

Though it’s just his personal view on what it should or could look like, I personally like the design of his concept, I think the major downside to it, is that the width of the screen appears abit too wide…

He’s revamped the interface, made the body madly thin, slapped on a 5 MP camera and went all touchscreeny. Sure it’s just pie-in-the-sky now but who knows, something similar may come from Redmond Washington.

Ready to play game? Well, with any of these three new monster gaming laptops from MSI (GX400, GX630, and GT735), you’ll be ready to play your favourite PC games anytime, anywhere. Let’s start checking the MSI GX400 notebook first. This 14.1-inch Centrino 2-based machine is powered by an Intel Core 2 Duo processor and an nVidia GeForce 9600M GT graphics engine. It also boasts a 4GB of DDR2 RAM, up to 500GB of HDD, a DVD burner (or Blu-Ray drive), an integrated webcam module, and a HDMI output.

MSI GX630 laptop comes with almost similar specs than GX400 series. Except that it has a bigger display, 15.4-inch in dimension. The rest are the same, including CPU, video cards, memory, etc.

As for MSI GT735 gaming laptop (picture above), it sports a 17-inch display, an AMD Turion X2 Ultra processor (based on AMD Puma technology), and an ATI Mobility Radeon HD3850 graphics engine.

Other features found on those notebooks include an Intel Turbo Drive Engine technology — enables users to increase the speed of the CPU when the laptop is in AC mode by pushing the turbo button — and ECHO Engine power management function — enables switching among 5 different operation modes – Gaming mode, Movie mode, Presentation mode, Office mode, and power saving Turbo Battery mode.

Unfortunately, no single words on pricing and availability from the company.

Erik Saxen produced these original works (inspired by a number of famous artists) for Apple's marketing, but is now seeking a (weird) collector to take them off his hands.

Sure, they're masterfully painted, but more interestingly come from a time when Apple, a more innocent underdog, could portray their products as fine art without coming off as arrogant. I'm not saying that this campaign wasn't at least partially born of hubris, but the effect - especially this many years later - is more strange and hilarious than anything else.
Using lightweight, reusable shopping bags made of recycled materials is pretty standard practice these days, but it's nice when bags you use all the time have a bit of style too. I like these bags made of recycled newspaper (from the Arts and Leisure section, so they're colorful too). They're made to be water resistant and have double straps and velcro closure. At $52 each, they're not cheap, but if you use the same one for years of trips to the farmer's market, the grocery store, and the library, then the per use cost could be almost nothing. And each one is unique.

Wallets of similar design are $30 each. Both are available at Uncommon Goods.

3D movie technology is sweeping the nation. More and more theaters are starting to prepare themselves for the day when every movie is in 3D. This revolution of technology has already started when DreamWorks announced that starting next year all animated features will be shown only in 3D, starting with “Monsters vs. Aliens”, releasing March 27. The 3D image is actually two images that are overlapped and slightly different from each other. This effect is first created during filming when the images are captured by two separate cameras. Each camera is positioned to capture the same image from a different point of view, ranging from a few inches to a few feet. The two sets of film are then shot onto the same screen creating the blur effect you see before putting on a pair of polarized glasses. By using special polarized glasses, your eyes capture one of the images for each eye and your brain turns them into 3D images that look incredibly realistic. Light travels in waves, both up to down and left to right. Each projector is fitted with a polarized lens filter. The filter only lets light traveling in a specific direction through and onto the screen. This means that one projector is displaying images with up to down light waves, and the other projector is displaying images with left to right light waves. The lenses in the glasses are fitted with similar filters, allowing each eye to see only one of the projected images. Your brain then translates the data from your eyes to create the 3D effect.

Monster Cable needs a new load of cash to put on more of its tradeshow parties featuring the likes of singer Mary J. Blige, so it's decided to gin up tiny containers of ScreenClean, five different $10 bottles of glorified Windex. Looky there! It's a special cleaner for the iPhone!

While we liked Monster's Dr. Dre Beats headphones, these five cleaners use the same con as Monster's $120 HDMI cables that you can get for $10 elsewhere: ripping off suckers who don't know any better. We've tried similar screen cleaners, and there's no difference at all between them and everyday household Windex. Buyer beware.

Laugh along with us as you read the company's press release:

I love that they're trying to do something genuinely new—the switchable keypad in the X6, the steel vertical thumb buttons on the first (new) Sidewinder mouse.

The problem is that some of the conventions they buck impact usability occasionally—the vertical thumb buttons on the Sidewinder mice, for instance, is a cramped, inferior setup to the standard horizontal layout. The X6 has a couple of similar issues—the space bar is longer than on most keyboards, running from the tip of the X key all the way to the question mark, so when reaching for right Alt, I'd smack the space bar eight times out of 10, even after a week with the keyboard.

The other major issue, versus other gaming keyboards, is that it doesn't have built-in USB or audio ports, like ones from Razer, SteelSeries or Logitech (though it doesn't have audio), for easy swapping of mice, headsets or other peripherals.

I still like this keyboard a lot—the punchiness of the keys is perfect, and has a very Logitech-y feel to it, actually. Dial controls for volume and backlighting are vastly superior to stupid buttons, and add to the "this fully armed and operational battle station" vibe. The removable keyboard is held in place with surprising strength by the magnets, so you won't worry about it coming apart in the middle of a frantic fragfest. And macros, macros, macros—there are lots of them, although I'm more of an FPS gamer, so they're less important to me—thought that might change when Starcraft 2 hits.

Eighty bucks puts it at the same price as Logitech's G15 and Razer's Lycosa (to which it's the most similar in style/build quality), but it's not better than either of those. Spring for this one if you're trying to complete your SideWinder set, need a ridiculous number of macros, or having a detachable keypad would be the bee's knees for you. Since this is only their first effort, I am pretty excited to see what they do next with the feedback on the X6.
