According to the designers, ‘The STC Router successfully bridges the gap between lifestyle and technology with it’s flower vase functionality’

Saudi Telecom wanted a unique router design, that would step away from traditional routers, yet still have all the functionality including VoIP, land line telephone, wireless and wired internet.

I think the design looks great, an ideal addition for your stylish apartment, it looks so much better than the traditional square routers.

Apparently, a guy in Japan has hacked his iPhone to work with his mini keyboard.

With this translation, I am kinda getting the idea how he did it.  (If you can read Japanese, please enlighten me by translating this original DIY Page.

From what is looks like, you just need 3 lines connecting each other with ground connected, DC 3.3V connected, and just the TxD to RxD.  Pretty simple it seems so you might want to give it a go if you have an old keyboard laying around.  (Well, maybe I will…)

By adding a choice of their games, photos, speakers or lego characters the child can create a fun wrist toy making it a lot easier for the parent to fit and more friendly for them to wear.

Hot on the heels of Apple’s blow-out year-end financial statements, which highlighted the Cupertino-based company’s success with the iPhone 3G, rumors are swirling around the various intertubes that have Apple secretly working on some sort of Apple netbook or tablet computer.

Steve Jobs made a rare appearance during Apple’s financial earnings conference call to field analysts’ questions. On the subject of whether Apple would expand its lineup to include a netbook - the fast growing segment of cheap and portable sub-notebooks - Jobs declared that Apple would be taking a wait-and-see approach.

Today we’re hearing that Apple may already have a netbook or some sort of Apple tablet in the works. An unnamed search engine source has revealed that it has seen web-traffic from an unknown Apple device with a display resolution between that of the iPhone and the MacBook. The device in question fits the profile for an Apple netbook or the oft-rumored Apple Tablet computer.

Alternatively, the mysterious device could be a next-generation iPhone. James and I were talking about the future of the iPhone and what we might expect to see from Cupertino in the next 1-1.5 years. An iPhone HD, with higher resolutions than the current iPhone 3G, would be the next logical step for Apple’s iPhone lineup. With the HTC Touch HD already stomping all over Apple’s iPhone-playground, I tend to agree with that line of thought. Apple needs to step up the display resolution to match the VGA and WVGA competition and it wouldn’t surprise us if Apple is already letting its iPhone HD out to play.

Is Apple testing their Apple MacBook Mini, the mythical Apple Tablet, or the next-generation iPhone HD?

One of the few official app launches occurring at the BlackBerry Developer Conference comes from PageOnce for BlackBerry. These guys are tapping into a wide variety of APIs and partnerships to provide live feeds of information from many, many services. I talked to the head honcho in the press room earlier today, and he gave me a bit of a demo. It was really incredible how you could see Netflix, investments, e-mail, bills, everything, from under one roof. Think of it as a Facebook News Feed for all of your personal information. Although BlackBerry just launched today, there’s been an iPhone app out there for a little while now. Very cool stuff, and hopefully they’ll see some love with the upcoming BlackBerry Application Center when it launches in March. Also, good on ‘em for making a low-contrast UI. I think a lot of people overlook the fact that using a mostly-white screen is like staring into a lightbulb.

Google Android, an mobile open-source platform is now available for download.  (Yes, it’s official now!)

Based on the Linux platform, this Google Android might become really big, maybe even much bigger than the iPhone market.

I really think this Android will live long as its based on open-source linux, meaning we should even have college textbooks that will study how Android works. (in few years)

What a great idea, another win for the open source community.  Yey!

Wow, I didn’t know the new MacBooks have multi-touch integrated into their glass touchpad but I guess it is and does look definitely cool.

What a great idea to implement that into your mouse pad, now you can have the large version of the iPhone, a new MacBook.   Also read up on the new MacBook Review if you haven’t yet.

In a recent Apple get-together conference (actually right now I think…), Steve Jobs says Blue-ray discs are “bag of hurt” and he’s unsure if this Blue-ray disc thing will keep going or not.

Although I don’t agree with Steve Jobs’ decision on going with AT&T for the iPhone, I have to agree Blue-ray discs are still in their early stages and things could drastically change in the next 1-2 years.

Just remember when the last couple time Sony failed to standardize their new technology inventions such as Laser Discs and Mini-disc players.  I used to ponder when our family would get a laser disc player and a mini-disc player but it turns out CDs and DVDs became the “THANG”.

Just like that, things can change so if you were going to purchase that Blue-ray disc player, just hold on 1 more year, and make sure the masses keep using Blue-ray.  Don’t be a guinea pig!  (If you are going to get a Blue-ray disc player, get a PS3, at least you can play games on it even if Blue-ray goes poof!)

Steve Jobs may be doing a smart thing here and save a lot of money on licensing costs, which is probably at its peak right now.
